Why We Sing
We believe the creative act is, in itself,a form of defiance.
Song confronts injustice, strengthens community,
andcalls us to sustained action.
The protest song remains essential to
protecting democracy and human dignity.

Music As Action.
Community As Practice.
IT'S TIME FOR TRUTH
Three Chords Collective exists to bring people together through songs that confront injustice and strengthen democratic life.
We gather musicians, songwriters, and listeners to share music rooted in truth, solidarity, and lived experience.
These songs are not commodities — they are tools for connection, resistance, and care. By singing together, we affirm our shared humanity and commit to the ongoing work of justice.

WE Sing Anyway
WE BELIEVE in the power of song to create community and galvanize action. In the face of injustice, song provides balm, nourishment, and inspiration, and the creative act itself stands as an expression of activism and defiance. We hold that every human life is valuable and deserving of peace, self-expression, and the opportunity to grow into a deeper, richer being with more to offer humanity.
WE OPPOSE the concentration of wealth, the erosion of democratic principles, and the systems—corporate, technological, and political—that weaken human music and collective life. Protecting democracy requires constant, consistent action. The protest song is always needed, which is why artists, scholars, and truth-tellers are so often named enemies of the state.
